Multiple values for a single database field

My db is for samples received. I need to have more than one entry per ID - ie, I get a sample with a unique ID, then later receive another under the same ID (either a new sample or a second aliquot of the original).
How do I do this? (I have seen it in other Access db's....there is a box with a + just to the left of the Sample ID field, but I can't tell how they inserted them there.
    Thanks for your help!

That plus is a lookup - to another table. Having multiple values in one field is not the way to go, create a table with the sample ID as a foreign key, and one record per entry.

Tell us about your "business process" in simple, plain English --no jargon and no database.

It seems you receive samples/replicates of a batch or lot or something, and you want to record something for some purpose.
You may get more focused responses if you could give readers a little more context.

    Good luck.

And you might start by reading about normalization.

Here is a site to begin with. There are 5 parts...
