"Unable to Load DLL" after upgrading Office 2010 to 2016

Hi. I have been using an Access 2003 db for years on Win7 systems with Office 2010 and 13. Data is pulled into Word forms.

I just upgraded Office on all machines to 2016. Now on one machine (the critical laptop), when I run the vb command, I am getting this...

VB Runtime Error 48 - Unable to Load DLL

The references on the desktop and laptop are identical on both machines (Access left and Word right). Any idea what the problem could be?

I didn't write the code and am not quite sure how to troubleshoot this. The reference dll's are all in place, though I can't tell which is causing the error. The only hint I can see is that the laptop formerly ran Office 10 while the desktop ran 2013. Registry issue? Some sort of permissions problem?

Likely that somewhere, code references a specific version of an Office program that is no longer valid. One example would be the TransferSpreadsheet method where acSpreadsheetType8 (Excel 97) is specified. Not saying this is the exact reason, it's just an example. If you can open the vb editor and set the property to break on all errors you can try to discover which lines of code trigger errors. There are no references in the affected project that are tagged as 'missing'?

Thank you for helping with this and for your suggestions! The problem occurred on all 3 machines (running Access 2003) after installing Office 2016. Reinstalling Office/Access 2003 after the Office 2016 install got all working normally again.

You're welcome, but come the day when you have no choice but to upgrade, the problem will be back if you didn't discover what the issue is.
