prob with date format when mail merging to word

    Hi guys n girls,

as the thread title suggests, I am having issues with the date format when mail merging.

I use a "policy expiry" field in a table, and that field is displayed in a mail merge. The format in word keeps coming up as the american style though. ie 27th July 2010 becomes 07/27/2010 which is not how its done in England.

So even in access it shows as 27th July 2010 in the table and associated forms, it does not translate well to word.

I have checked regional date/time settings in ctrl panel and this is correct.

I have changed format of fields in access to long date to show how we write a long date here in UK, and even changed input mask to dd/mm/yyyy but this does not sort the matter.

Please can someone point me in the direction of what i am doing wrong please.

    Thank you
    greg

have found some coding which seemed to work.... adding the following to the merge field in word by right clicking on it and toggling and adding following code

    \@ "dd/MM/yyyy"
