A2013 How to bypass "Startup" going only to DB window

I have a bug I can't get to because Access keeps trying to continue which raises the error repeatedly. It's as though an error handler issues a resume endlessly.

I used to be able to hold down the shift key and double-click the mdb to open the db window but that doesn't seem to work with A2013.

    Any suggestions?

Shift key bypass is still available in Access 2013 https://support.office.com/en-us/art...7-8C9218CC2EF7

This is a split db? Why would frontend be deleting a link when it opens?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Yes, split db. Deleting the link is part of the problem being addressed. (App plays common host to multiple back-ends.)

SHIFT-click only works with Access "Open Dialog", not from Windows Explorer as in the past.
