Access Freezes at startup

I started with Access 2003 and found that when I started it I'd get the splash screen and it would freeze until a message box came up telling me Access couldn't start, I'd click cancel and get another message box saying Windows was looking for a solution but it closed itself and didn't provide me with any information. Then the splash screen would close.

Then I'd start the program again and it would start without a problem.

Then I upgraded to Access 2007 and the exact same thing happened.

Finally, on another machine, I did a complete fresh install of Windows 7, this time using Access 2010. Now the only difference is that I don't get the message boxes but Access still locks up at the Slash screen. I have to go into Task Manager and end the process. When I start it again it works fine.

This happens every day after I start the machine.

I loaded the 2nd machine with all the same software that was on the 1st intending to replace the 1st with the 2nd.

That software includes SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Could there be a conflict between Access and one of these?

Is Access trying to connect to one of those servers? If so it could be as simple as having both SQL Server and PostgreSQL trying to use the same port for communications.

If they are, then Access won't know who it's talking too which could cause the problem you're seeing.
