Subreport not showing in print preview when there are no records in the main report. If this normal?

    Hi.
    Consider the following screen shots:

The subreport displays well in layout view but nothing shows up in print preview.
Though the "Percentage and Rank" subreport is linked to the main report using a control on the main form. As it is now, no recordset is returned by the record source of the main form(in this case a query). Could this be the reason why i am having this situation? Also, if i want the subreport to show its labels and outlined control boxes even if the main report is blank, how do I achieve this.
Thanks in advance for your replies. Still a novice in access.

Maybe move those headings of Percentage and Rank to the main form and display the subreport under it with no headers, just the data? You also might want to make those values 0 if no data possibly so something will always show.
