    Link between Excel and Access

I am trying to import a table from my existing ms access database to ms excel. When I click on Get External Data, From Access, I get a dialog box that tells me about data link properties. I click on "Test Connection" and it get another dialog box showing a failure. See attached files.

I try to set up a valid link (which I had before) to import a table from my database, but I am running into trouble. Can anyone help?

Are you sure you are clicking the right button. The 'from access' button should just open the file explorer for you to select the file. What your screenshot shows is something more akin to clicking the connections button

I activate Excel. I click on "Data". I click on "From Access" from "Get External Data" area. That opens a dialog box asking me to "Select Data Source". I find the folder and ".accdb" database I want to get the source from and that is when it brings up the "Data Link Properties" dialog box as I have included with the first message. I don't see the table from the database that I want to import. I have seen it before and have imported it before, but I lost the link and don't know how to get it back. Is there possibly a corruption of some kind going on here?

After many tries to no avail, I decided to try loading Microsoft Office 2010. With that installation, I was able to see my table and do the import into MS Excel 2010. So, consider this closed. If I am required to go somewhere else on this site and close my post, I don't know where that is.
