    Corrupt Database: Possible solution?

    Hi Everyone,

Yes, the stupidest thing happened to me and I have a corrupt ms-Access mdb which contains many hours of development work. Arrgghh!

In the past I have been able to use the "/decompile" switch, followed by a repair and compact in order to get into the file. Indeed, even when I couldn't fix the corruption, I found that I was able to copy the components out of the file into an empty mdb.

But this time none of that seems to work and I keep getting messages like "The database 'c:\xxx.mdb' can't be repaired or isn't a Microsoft Access database file". A message which also appears when I try to import into an new, empty MS-Access mdb.

I really hope that someone out there has a suggestion for me (or a helpful link)? That would save me lots of bother.

    Many thanks,
    Alan Searle

    Corruption

Many thanks for the link and, yes, I have been trawling all kinds of sites on this subject and have also tried both jetcomp and various undelete tools but I don't think I'll be able to recover the mdb: I think it is a physically corrupt file caused by a network or disk problem.

That's a real shame but, OK, I'll just have to rebuild things from my last backup.

But anyway, thanks for the link: I have put it in my bookmarks ready for next time.

    All the best,
    Alan
