How to import multiple access files into one file

This may sound like a very simple task for most, but it is not one that I find easy.

I am trying to take multiple (around 30 or so) MS Access 2003 files and throw the data into a single access, or excel file.

All the files are identical in formatting, and this is something that will be done on an almost daily basis.

    Please help if you can.

    Thanks!

Why don't you use a MAKE_TABLE QUERY or have a look at how to merge databases.

one presumes that when you say 'files' , you mean tables. If these are on the same LAN - then you should be able to link to these tables....meaning that all the data is available for you to lookat/query/etc....without having to do anything at all - except linking to them.

Yes, thank you for the correction. They are tables, and I would like to link them all together. How would you go about linking them?

    I am an access novice.

in the tool bar one goes to file/external data/link (rather than 'import').

Import is one time, while link is living so as the other db updates you always are looking at the most recent data.

invest in an Access text book easily found on Amazon or any big box bookstore; it is ok to be novice but one must make the effort to self educate.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
