    V-Tools installation

I have VTools installed on my MS Access 2010 system. Periodically, it seems to shut itself down. I have version 1.83.

Now you cannot just click on the application and it will reinstall - no, that does not work. You must have administrator privileges.

My favorite way to do this is :

    1. Go to start menu

    2. Type in command cmd and right click to run as administrator.

    3. Type in net user administrator /active:yes

    4. wait for response that command run was successful.

    5. When it says command completed successfully, voila you are administrator.

    6. install V-tools.

If it were only that easy. I still get the error that you must be administrator in order to
install V-Tools. I am! It then says to start MS Access as administrator. Then install V-Tools.

The install of V-Tools is independent of MS Access!

I must be doing something wrong. But what is it?

Also, how can I prevent VTools from periodically deactivating and needing to be reinstalled?

Eventually, mucking around with it, I will get it to install. Lets lose the mucking around and install V-Tools.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

    Lou Reed

I have got this one. V-Tools must be installed through MS Access (2010 in my case) and MS Access must be run as administrator. MS Access 2010 must be be started (right click on MS Access 2010 shortcut and hold shift key down) and select run as administrator V-Tools is then installed. It only installs one way.

    This way.

I wrote this install procedure last month, but I left one thing out. The user must type the following into the cmd line after it opens up.

    net user access *** /***.

I forgot what the asterisks represent if anyone knows lease tell me.

    Thanks in advance.

I have got this. The line to type is

    net user administrator /active:yes

You will get permission denied and then something like install complete.

Why I do not know, but that s how it works for me.
