    Local tables created by SSMA

    Hi,

I have used SSMA to migrate my tables to a SQL Server. All table relations were also migrated correctly.

However, after migrating there followinmg tables in Access Fron End:
    - Linked tables to SQL Server
    - Local tables called "SSMA...$Local"

I have tried to understand what the local tables do. I have not find any reason to have them. I removed them but I got questions that some tables where connected to other tables through relations. All my relations were already migrated to SQL Server so I forced to delete the local tables. It seems to work as it should. Anyone know what the local tables do? Do I need them?

    \Joakim

These local tables are Links to the real tables with the real data in the SQL Server database.

Local tables in the Navigation pane, which show small arrows at the left side of the table names, indicate that these tables are now linked to tables, that reside in the Back-end database.

    Good luck with your project.

He isn't asking about the linked tables. He is asking about the actual local tables with actual local data in them that are named with a prefix SSMA$<original table name>. They appear to me to be copies of the tables before the move of the data to SQLServer. I believe the relations are relations to each other that existed in the tables before the transfer.
