Function required for access similar to sumif function of excel

    Respected Sir,

I am looking for a substitute for sumif function for access as there is no sumif function in access. after doing some google I found DSUM for access....but I am not getting my result.... Kindly help me out. the detail of the question is as under:-

I have a table for employee data base link with excel where there monthly salary detail are entered I have included one field in that data base .. projected Gross Salary ....My question is that I want to sum the projected Gross Salary if its meet the condition Employee No. .....where

EMPLOYEE NO ......... IS THE CODE OF THE EMPLOYEE
DATA ............... IS THE NAME OF TABLE
PROJECTED GROSS SALARY ............. IS THE FIELD TO BE SUM

ALL THIS FIELD ARE NUMBERIC NO TEXT FIELD.

I HAVE USED THE D SUM FUNCTION BUT I AM GETTING AN ERROR / ONLY IF I CHANGE THE FIELD TO TEXT FORMET. THE RESULT ARE COMING BUT WITH AN ERROR "ENTER PARAMETER" ..............THE FORMULA I HAVE ENTER IS AS UNDER:-

=DSum("[PROJECTED GROSS SALARY]","DATA","[EMPLOYEE NO]=""" & [ EMPLOYEE NO] & """") '(Kindly do it for text and numbric data type

I WILL BE GLAD IF YOU COULD HELP ME WITH THIS ...... AND IF YOU COULD ADD A DATE FIELD ALSO .I.E DSUM PROJECTED GROSS SALARY FROM TABLE DATA CONDITION EMPLOYEE NO UP TO MONTH . SO THAT IT DOES NOT TOTAL THE WHOLE SALARY OF A PARTICULAR EMPLOYEE IN STARTING MONTH.

I am doing this on a report using a textbox where i want the total to appear.

See if this helps. There's a multi-criteria example at the bottom:

Oh, and the parameter prompt is Access telling you it can't find something (whatever the prompt says). Double check the spelling of whatever it is asking for.
