Getting rid of onscreen ads in viewing and in print outs

This may sound a trivial question, but it is important to me.

In the last few days all of the onscreen views and any screen printout on my new pc
have been flooded with adds. It is the only computer in our house that does this
and I am guessing that the filter software is not installed or it is corrupt.

I have two questions, what is the best way to stop his?

I have had this computer since December of last year. So why now? It seems to
have only started occurring. Why did it take so long? In did not have this in December 2016
    and January 2017?

Ads are for super market flyers not computer screens.

This is really an ms Access question since it really interferes with my viewing and posting on this forum.

    Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

    Lou Ree

It sounds like you have ad-ware installed on your computer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adware#As_malware

FYI, thread moved out of Access forum, as it is not an Access question.

If it is there it shouldn't be. You know this is weird. I use to use Ad aware all the time It worked very well and it was free.

Now it seems Ad aware has done a complete 180, it is one of the worse things that a computer can have.

What gives? Did it go over to the darkside?

It may just be the adware that is installed on your computer is undetectable by Ad Aware. Also free computer utilities tend to have an awful trend to suck up more system resources over time, because they collect data to turn into revenue. I would suggest using MalwareBytes and running a scan to see what it picks up.

To prevent this in the future, use browser plugins like uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger. They stop adware websites and plugins from loading before they ever have a chance to infect your computer.

To clarify potential confusion, there's "adware", which is a general term for malicious software as noted in the link above. There's "Ad-Aware", which is software to combat adware. To my knowledge, Ad-Aware is still a good product.

Maybe you mean unwanted ads that pop up while you are surfing the web. If so , you can get rid of those by disabling scripts that may disturb your viewing ability or use some websites correctly.

If the issue is common in all the web browsers then its adware. Download AdwCleaner https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/After installing run a free scan and click on clean button. A restart is required after the complete removal of adware.
