condition if date is earlier or later than today calculated column

    Hello,

I have a table, with a column [Date] and another column [status]
I want that If [Date] is later than today status goes "Delayed" or "In time" otherwise.
I tried this expression but it says

The expression: IIf([Date]<now(),"In Time","Delayed") cannot be used in a calculated column

I know I could do it through a query, but isn't it possible from the table?

    thanks!

simply, No. calculated fields in tables are very limited.

Note also that Date is a reserved word (it means today) i.e. the date part of the now function (which includes the time). Using reserved words will cause problems at some point

actually the column name is [ScheduledDate], but thanks for the tip, I'll have it in mind.

well, It is sad because I already had a good formula working well in that column, just wanted to add that other option, I guess I'll go for the query then

    Thanks!
