Print permission denied from form preview after O/S upgrade

We recently upgraded from Win XP to Win 8.1 and our Access application, written in Access 97, will no longer allow us to print from a form preview. The application is a partial Access installation - I don't know the nomenclature - that includes just the Access engine (msaccess.exe) and enough files to allow the app to run, but not enough to open Access as a separate app so I can edit the user app. I have to move the associated *.mdb file to another system to do any editing.

The form previews with a print icon at the top of the form/report and is what we use to print the form. This has always worked while we were using Win XP.

I've updated the printer driver on the new system, to a Win 8.1 driver, checked the permissions on the printer (everyone/anyone can print) as far as the O/S is concerned, but still no luck printing within the Access app. Can anyone recommend other things to check?

    Thanks.

    Reinstall Access with ALL components.
you can try printing to a PDF writer. Then print the PDF.

You know, I didn't even think of doing that, reinstalling the app, that is.

I think that may solve the problem. I'll give it a go tomorrow and we'll see.

    Thanks!

Well, that didn't do it. I removed the software, reinstalled everything, and I get the same old error: Permission Denied.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
