Make data entry in a field mandatory based on content of another field in the same table

    Hello Everyone,

I am quite new to Access.

I have a table with a field called Sales_Stage and another field called Quoted_Date. I want a validation rule to say: If Sales_Stage = Quoted or Accepted then the Quoted_Date field cannot be blank. If the Sales_Stage = lead then Quoted_Date can be blank.

What is the best way to build this validation into the table?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Vinnie

You don't. You put the validation on the input form.
in the form ON CLOSE event put the code to cancel the form close if the condition is invalid.
warn the user about this so they can fix it.
