You should avoid lookup fields at table field level. Use Forms to do lookups.

Aliruz,
I realize you are new to the forum, but this is regarded as a good practice on all forums:
When you cross post, tell readers you have done so and provide the associated link(s).
Here is why!
dang! just wasted 1/2 an hour
Thank you, Orange. You just saved me time. Wish I knew how to catch that without trolling all over the 'net in other Access forums
A moderator should and should be able to flag a poster name with a small icon when the OP is called out for cross posting so the rest of us can do a little search on the post subject line before wasting time. If no more undeclared cp's in say 6 months, remove it. If repeated undeclared cp's, maybe some stronger medicine?

Micron,
Interesting approach. I can assure you that some forums question whether cross posts should even be flagged/noted/identified. Like you and others, I have been a victim of spending a lot of time working to help someone only to find the issue had been resolved on another forum. The OP never goes back to say it was solved; never advises of the solution on any post and sees nothing wrong with the practice of never giving anything back.
For me it is netiquette - perhaps even common decency and at least a common courtesy - to provide those who willingly volunteer to help with info of the "problem/opportunity" and advise within the post that others have been asked for advice/assistance and give the coordinates.
I think the Excelguru's article is spot on and important. And I will point cross posters to it when I find such posts. Some real newbies (1 or 2 posts) don't frequent the forum, so a reminder seems appropriate. It just might start them off on a better track.
Glad you saw the reference before spending time on it (especially at midnight).
In at least two forums (Excel based). Repeat offenders are issued public warnings, and sometimes banished for periods of time. It is a rare case, but I have seen it happen. If repeated undeclared cp's, maybe some stronger medicine?
