I believe you mean Access 2016; but in any case - only Access or SharePoint tables are created by Access - one creates the tables in the native ODBC database such as the SQL Server product using that product, not Access. Then you link to it using the External Data ODBC option.
Some databases such as MySQL do have an import feature. So you may benefit from splitting the db using Access and then with the ODBC database importing the Access tables. But you would still then link to it using the external tab.
Hi, sorry I meant 2016 version. What I mean is that in the ribbon the SQL server option does not appear, unlike in a 2010 version that I have in my work's computer. Thanks.

I use 2010 and do not have a sql server option - you would use the odbc option
Would be interested to see a screen shot of the sql server option from your work computer, perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place - this is what I see
