    Close first DB drom second?

I have a DB that opens a second DB. I have tried using the first DB to close itself once the second DB is open but it kept leaving the access shell open. Is there a way to close the first DB from the second DB? or is there a way from the first that leaves the second open while closing completely the first. any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

Nice program, Is this one you wrote? Was going thru it thinking you had maybe referred to the wrong DB when i noticed the "close me and run target" button. I like the way the Shell is wrote, its a lot cleaner then mine but what's confusing is that i had tried that same method of closing my first DB, but it closed both the first and second DB when i tried. I'll try rewriting what i have to be in line with this and see if it goes better. thanks for the example.

Yep, I cranked it out in 2005 when I was dealing with several DBs and needed an organized way to manage B&Cs. I threw in the "close me and run target" as another convenience since it took so little code.
    Good luck with your project.

Awesome job on it, I love sample DB's just for the reference of the correct way of doing something and for ideal's of what's possible when i need to do something new. This one is being studied right now actually, if you have any other examples like this, post them in the sample area and let me know. Oh, congratulations you just made "Advanced Beginner"

Thanks, i found some definite differences in flow of that DB that i keep in mind. i used the subfinish and subruntarget in my DB and it works great but I do have a small issue. It is opening a shell of access then opening another access with the DB leaving the shell. Any idea's what happening?

I don't know what you mean about leaving a 'shell'. Task Manager shows only one instance of Access after the action.
