CrossTab query works intermittently

I use Access 2007

I'm trying to get a cross-tab query to show data that pertains to a form it resides in. I have an ID number on the form and in the query, and reference the ID number from the form in the WHERE clause of the ID field in the query.

It works sometimes, and then if I close the database and re-open it, it does not work. When it does not work, it produces a "Enter Parameter Value" dialogue box, indicating that it cannot find the referenced field in the form. How can I fix or get around this?

If the query does reference a field on a form then it will only run if said form is open.
