    Automatic Forum Experience Levels?

Hi y'all. When I signed up a while back, I chose 'Competent Performer' or some such thing for my level. I see that it has changed to Expert, but I don't recall doing that. Is there some sort of automated 'upgrade' based on # of posts or points given or something? I guess I'm a modest sort in some ways, and am not sure I deserve the ranking. I hold myself up against the likes of Allen Browne, Albert Kallal, Dev Ashish, etc. If I'm an expert, they must be gods (with a small g so as not to offend the righteous). So how did my expertise level change and why?

I'm pretty sure it is as you suspect, an automatic thing done by the forum software. You can put anything you want there.

I hope to graduate from "Competent Performer" and am insanely jealous of the "Splendid One".

pbaldy; look at you with 14,500+ posts! Compare to my paltry amount and one quickly realizes you must have reached "Omnipotent" status.

    Lots-of-posts <> knows-a-lot.

Of the 3 you mentioned, I've met Allen and Albert (at an MVP event). I have a similar feeling you do; they're the small-g gods, I'm just a guy who enjoys helping people. I'm not in their league, likely never will be.

Thanks, but it would only go to my head. I am actually quite proud of my status as "Competent Performer". I've already exceeded expectations.
