Disable 'Allow value list edits' by default for combo boxes

The property 'Allow value list edits' is enabled by default for combo boxes. This enables the user to enter another list item.

However, I don't want this to happen and have manually set it to No.

Is there a way to set it to No by default whenever a combo box is created?

not so far as I am aware - if there is it will be in file>options somewhere (I use 2010 and it is not available, perhaps it is in a later version)

however you can set up a bit of vba code to run when the form opens to set this property to false

    something like mycombo.allowvaluelistedits=false
