Brackets Automatically Added in Search Form Control

I have built a simple search form based on Allen Browne's example. It has worked fine util recently when access started adding brackets to the form control.

My search form won't work and tells me I have an incorrect use of brackets. Every time I delete the brackets access just drops them back in when I hit save.

    Query: ItmNmbrs.100ItmNmbr

    After Save: ItmNmbrs.[100ItmNmbr]

Does anyone know why this is happening?

P.S. - The name of the column does not have the brackets around [100ItmNmbr].

The Access Gnomes get persnickety when you have a number as the beginning of an object's name.

Well... poo. I was hoping you weren't going to say that.

I changed the name of the field in the table and now it's working fine. Thanks for the advice.
