    Sub-report missing the header section

I created a report that included a few column headings in the header section of the report. Then, I specified that report as the SourceObject in a sub-report control on a main report. The sub-report detail section displays perfectly when the main report is run, but the header section of the sub-report is excluded.

How do I get the entire SourceObject "SubRptChkDep" report to display in its entirety?

If you open the subreport "SubRptChkDep" stand alone, is the header displayed?
The only thing that makes it a sub-report is that it is in a sub-report control. So if it displays the header stand alone, it should display as a sub-report.

Displays perfectly in standalone. I did all of the desired display adjustments in standalone before I ever included it as the Source Object in a sub-report within the main.

I even increased the height of the sub-report control, but that didn't make any difference.

    Found it!

    Select the subform/subreport control
    Open properties
    Click on the Format tab
The bottom property is "Show page header and page footer". Change to YES.

Edit: Just discovered that Report View displays both report header and footer. Print preview just displays the report header.

Ack!! Sorry, I forgot to look and see what version you are using.

    Check out these sites:
    http://msgroups.net/access.reports/m...-labels/111122
    http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/ho...eport.3776100/

Or use a label above the subform control and create your own (custom) header.

Thanks Steve. I'll create the headings in the main report.

Below is a screen shot of a simple main report that contains two also simple sub-reports. While it's true one cannot get "page headers" to appear within a sub-report control, at least in A2003, one CAN get the "report headers" to appear. I did not pursue the discussion about using "grouping" to perpetuate the headings if multiple pages occur, but there is more to learn there via simple Google searches. Allen Browne's site is where I'd start with that topic.
