Importing and updating data.

I need a solution, either software, add-on, anything.



Basically I run a small business, I have my product information on a .CSV file.

I need to have information updated based on a unique I.D. of a column.

Lets say my unique I.D. is in column A and the i.d. is "1234".

I need to match "1234" of my datasheet to a imported data sheet and update certain fields of the same row according to that unique i.d.

best example I can give is this, column A is my product name that i am going to use for the unique i.d. and then in column C i have the prices.

so when Column A is "1234" in row in, I need it to match up to the other data sheets "1234" and update column C if the price is different so i don't have to manually go through and update everything one by one.

I am willing to set this up on my own with very limited knowledge of excel/access, buy software that will do the job, or anything else!

I have attached to file, the file is an image of comparing the 2 files sense it would not allow me to upload both files.

"mydata" which is my data sheet, only 1 item on there but normally there will be 450-550.

the 2cd file is name "data-to-update-from" and this will normally have 10,000+ items on there, so i need to have my data scan that and update only what I have if possible.

there will be several fields that need updated, but for example sake, I just made 2 fields I will need to update from, "price" and "price retail".

You should be able to use an update query, presuming you can link to or import the csv file. You would join the two on the product id.
