Question Inputting into a number field

    Hi
I am trying to input data into a table - it is setup to be a number field as I will need it for calculation later. But when i key in 5.75 it automatically rounds it off to 6 - WHY?
How do I get it to remain with 2 decimal places. Have tried what I would usually do in excel and nothing works.
    Please help
    Ida

Try a data type of currency. Sounds like you've used Number/Long Integer or Integer.

    Thanks Paul
I didn't want to use currency as I didn't want the $. But will have to do - it works that way.

You don't have to use Currency Datatype to keep the decimals...just change the Datatype, in the Table Def, from Integer/Long, as Paul said, to Single or Double, depending on the size of the numbers to be held. Then follow the link orange gave you, to display the filed with two decimal places, after doing any math.
