Question Combobox with linked Oracle table

I have my form connected to a linked table (ODBC Oracle). One field has a 1-n relation to another table.
I want to display the value of the other table in a combobox (and selecting another item should update the main table).
Neither the usual way for Access tables (Lookup) nor setting a query as recordsource of the combobox does work. Doing the latter, the combobox is filled when popping up, but the correct entry is not shown in default state.
    Any ideas?

So, the problem is not connecting to Oracle, the problem is the order the query sorts the records? What do you mean by 'default state'?

Default means no popup. I have solved the Problem, seems to be a mistyping.
    Thanks.
