    Running multiple backends

    Hi

I have created an Access Database for my Company. In relations to have a running backup I thought if it would be possible to run multiple backends?

e.g. I would like to use a running backend, from which the frontends read and write and a backup backend to which the frontends only write?

Do you see any problems with a setup like that? Or do you have any other ideas to have a running backup?

    Cheers

    Erik

I guess you can. Tables from the main db and link in tables from the 'backup'.
Normally, the backup is put aside somewhere where nothing happen to it if the main db crashes.
I only do this if tables get so full that they must be separated due to db size.

As mentioned, just copy the file to a backup location. If you are running a newer version of Windows server, IT should be able to help you out with this. Alternatively, you can run script via Task Scheduler or some other method to copy and then paste the Access file.
