    Compact and Repair

Hi, I have a simple question, my data base is getting very big and slow. I read that I should be using the compact and repair function to fix this. I am concerned that it may change or delete some of my data. Can anyone reassure me this won't happen? Thanks

no, so make a backup BEFORE you compact. I lost 1 once. Backups save lives.

Ya, it would be my life if this went down, my boss would kill me! Do you still run the compact and repair after that happened?

Backup Everything. I use a batchfile
    Code:
    set dtname=%date:~0,3%%date:~4,2%%date:~7,2%%date:~10,4%
    xcopy \\server\share\data.accdb \\server\share\%dtname%\
