    Access 2016 Problems

I'm still going around the block with Access...not an accomplished programmer, BUT I do know how to copy and paste!

In Access 2016 (an Office 365 Home subscription), I tried to copy an Access Query SQL Select statement so I could Paste it into a text file to help me build a Union query. But guess what??? I can't Copy from the Query SQL page! The Copy icon is not dimmed when I left-click it, but afterward the Paste icon is dimmed! I've also tried the right-click Copy method, and that doesn't work either. Typing long Select queries is a pain when trying to construct a Union Query!

Access 2016 has no problem with the Copy command from a table, however...just the SQL page in the Query area. Is anyone else out there experiencing this problem, or is it just my copy of Access 2016?

    Thanks for your input.

    That cant be true!
Microsoft, why do you keep making Access worse than the version before?
Access 2003 was great, then you removed all the short cuts in 2007.

    Hi ranman256,

Unfortunately, it is sad, but true. Wish it were not. Typing long Select statements is not my forte. Just wish there was a work-around or something.

I suspect that you have an issue with your db. The following link from MS, specifically suggests copy and paste of SQL statements and at the bottom indicates the proscribed procedure applies to AC 2016.

Have you tried a compact and repair of your db?

    (copy), ctl-(copy(
I always use the keyboard shorts of ctl-C (copy) ctl-X (cut) and (ctrl-V (paste).

I find that the keyboard shortcuts will oftrn work in most places even is there is not a menu/ribbon or shortcut (right-click) menu option.
