Pass data from some same name fields in Main Form to Sub Form...how ?

    Hi,

    Access 2010

I have a subform related to the main form on its Auto ID.
It gives me in one visible neat location all the details of the paint stocks I have.
It has some fields which are also the same name on the main form, where further details of this and other non paint items are entered, paint being but a small part of the stock the main form features, so rather than type the entries in again, I wish it to pull in the entries from the main form for these fields. It no doubt is wrong to store the data twice, so better would be to have the fields in the subform display the contents of those main form fields, but its table doesnt hold that data. Else I will opt for its table also storing that data.

    How is this done ?

I know one should only feature a field once and not type data in more than once, but this subform specific to paint gives me all the fields I need for the paint range I have in one easy to view window alongside the main form. I dont wish to see the paint subform visible only on its own, but I also need some of those fields in the main form for my normal 99% of the time viewing and for the greater range of products it features.
