Making text appear on header by the current record in the detail section

    Hi Everyone
i created forms for student and staff. I wanting to have the name of the student or staff appear on the header section when viewing the record.

example I have a student table and a staff table. I created a form named staff and a form name student. I want the current record showing on the form to be on the header. I seen people use the nz function or dlookup function but can someone explain how to do this. I did created a query to show the first and last names of student or staff. Can someone write a sample here ...
    thanks
    John

First, why do you have two tables? I would think the fields for both tables would be the same.

    Now I'm really confused.

Would you explain more about what you are trying to? What is a "section"?

I would use 1 table with both students or staff in it and have 2 queries to get students or staff.

Or if you want to post your dB....... or pictures would also do.... (need more info about field names and what your vision is for the forms)

what prevents you from just putting/dragging that field onto your form - and to where you want it to be - when the form is in design view?
