    Switchboard Manager

    Help Required!

Can you have 1 switchboard to access multiple databases as i have 3 seperate databases and want to make it easier to input data on each database, same for reports, queries and would also like to password protect the edit part which might stop little fingers doing some real damage.

Are these the same DB with different info, or 3 entirely different DBs? If different and all tables are named different, you can link to tables from different DB's, no problem. Then use them just like local tables. If they have the same names, then you'd have to relink the tables. Your switchboard button would need to call VBA which does the relinking, then whatever else it needed to do.

Why not just compile the front end into a accde (or .mde). This will prevent little fingers (other users) from making changes to forms, reports, and modules..

Since this sounds like a multiple user database it should be properly split and set up for multiple users. Is your database split into an Application (front end) and Data (back end)? If not then see Split Database
