    rpt templates

Hi, I ran into a bit of an issue when upgrading to windows 10 and using Access 2010.

We have a cheque printer setup using a rpt template to print to a specific printer and specific page, now access 2010 says it can't find that printer (but it exists - nothing has changed!).
I've got to re-select the printer, and set it up again. Where would that report be? It's not in the reports section of access.

    Thanks,
    Joe

I don't understand the problem. The report will print to the wrong printer or the report does not exist?

The report can't find the printer under windows 10, and then when we select the specific printer, it won't save those settings.

Printers have their own drivers. You can associate a specific printer via a Report's properties. When you do this, you are specifying various things, like port and driver. If you open your Report in Design View, you can go to the Page Setup Group within the Ribbon (Page Setup tab). There, within the Page Setup group, is the Page Setup tool that will open the Page Setup Dialog Box.

Within the dialog box and under the Page tab, you can associate a specific printer. This needs to be done on each front end file that contains your report and on the specific computer. Remember, you are going after a specific port and specific driver that may be unique to the User's machine.

    Joe,

Your Access report is set to go to a specific printer not he default. Unfortunately Windows 10 probably renamed the printer. I say the same think with Windows 8/8.1. You will need to edit the report, and go to page setup to and re-select the specific print.
