I upgraded my office365 to 2016 thinking there may be some new features.. there's not and the only thing is now everywhere where i have a default value set for the date as in Date() i just get a ?Name# In the date field.

This is the DefaultValue property?
Interesting. Have you discovered a bug? Nothing we can do about bugs.
Roll back to Office365?

Shot in the dark but have you tried typing Date vs. Date() ?
Where are the defaults set, table, form, macro?
Try typing ?date and ?date() in the immediate window to see if they're working ok.
You could try hard coding a date as the default to see what happens.
That was very helpful!
I tried looking at a default Desktop CallLog template and noticed it hadn't been updated, but i'll look at those 5 that have and see if i can find it.
When I switched to my pc with access2013 still on it, the Default Value of Date() was still not working. I checked references and noticed that MS Office 15.0 Object Library wasn't checked. I checked it and the default of Date() began working again.
Switched back to new access2016, still not working. checked references and now it has a reference for office 15.0 object library and 16.0 and won't let me uncheck either.
I'm hoping the templates will help out.
I've tried ?Date() in immediate window and it doesn't work.
I've also tried using Date$() thinking maybe returning the value as a string would solve it, but it didn't.
Here are some screenshots of it in my access 2013 not working
Not exactly sure why, but still cannot remove MS Office 15.0 Object Library. But I uncheck 16.0 and then rechecked 16.0 and I guess it finally recognized it.
The date is working fine now.
Wish I had a more definitive answer but it seems that just unchecking the reference to 16.0 object library and hitting ok, and going back in and rechecking it solved the problem in 2016.
Going back and trying to open in 2013 still throws error even though the MS Office 15.0 Object Library is referenced. I get the error #Name? in the field.

Remove the = sign.
?Date()
and
?Date
both work in Access 2010
