I have a report that shows the city for each record. But rather than it being a word it's a number. Should I not be using a combo box for the city in my form?
What do I need to do to get the city to populate as the word not a number?

Options:
1. use combobox in report - it won't be interactive but will display the city name same as it does on form
2. include the Cities table in the report RecordSource

For whatever reason I cannot get either of those options to work.
I'm learning so bear with me.
What does that mean - error message, wrong results, nothing happens?
For option 2, did you bind textbox to the city name field?
Post the SQL statement of the report RecordSource.

Sorry... Please remember I'm still learning here. I receive the same results as I was. However I'm beginning to think I didn't do Option 2 correctly. Any chance you walk me through binding my city field to my textbox?
Did you modify the report RecordSource to include the table that has city names?
If so, then pull the field from the Available Field List to the report to create and bind textbox in one motion.
This is basic report design functionality. Have you completed any tutorials (book or on-line)? Here is one http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/

Took an online course that addressed queries and reports toward the end. And they seemed vague and rushed... It was very basic. I do some reading at the website you provided and get back to you.Did you modify the report RecordSource to include the table that has city names?
