Can't get report to force a new page prior to report footer.

I am actually not using the report header or footer, but I need them so I can force a new page.
I set the force new page to 'before this section' in the report footer section. but it still wont force the new page.
also, I have all the correct record data in the report view but it says "no current record" when I try to use Print Preview???

If you do not have anything in the footer, I don't think you will get a new page. Put something in there, even if it is just a textbox with =Now() in it and see what you get. An example of a reason for forcing a new page after a report footer would be to show an order form, for example. You might have to do something like I suggested but either make the forecolor the same as your page or it might work if you make the control invisible.

tried to put info in both header and footer, still no page break. I tried a manual break also.

Just recalled that this only works in print preview, not report view. I rarely use the latter, so I'm hazy on this type of view. I think report view doesn't break the data up into pages like print preview, thus I guess we can't expect to see a "new page" after your footer.

As for the "no current record" in preview:
    - are there any sub reports on this?
    - custom ribbon?
    - is it generated from form data?
    * If so, does that form have sub-forms on it?
    * Is that form being closed when the report opens?
    - are you using runtime or full Access version?
    - are you using vba to set report recordsource or control row sources?
    - are you trying to do anything with report controls (data-wise) in the open event? This has to be done in the load event.

If none of the above questions provide any clues, you might have to upload a stripped down version of your db for analysis. This sort of thing can be very difficult to trouble shoot this way.
