New Access User - Need Help On Importing Data From Excel

i am trying to import data from excel. so far this doesnt seem to be hard except i have several columns that have state's as the column headings. (nevada, arizona, utah, etc.) in excel i type an "X" in the column if that person does business in that state. in access i would like to import that data and use yes/no checkboxes but im having a tough time importing that into access. any ideas? thanks.

While still in Excel, use Find and Replace to put in "Yes" where the "X"s were.
