Question "Unrecognized Database Format" How to get past this?

Ok, at work I have my access database made using Access 2007.

I have been working on this for about 6 months at work. I decide to make a copy of it to take home so I can work on it at home. At home I have Access 2013 and Access 2007. However when I try to open the copy I brought from work it gives me an error message saying "Unrecognized Database Format (File location and name..)"

Why does this happen and how can I open this database from home

I am home now and hoping to open this thing up sometime soon. Anybody have any suggestions

What did you do, email it to yourself? Maybe you do not have the privilege to open the file.

No. I saved a copy of the database to my thumb drive. What can I do?

I don't think there is anything you can do. You should not try to open the file while it is still on the thumb drive. Instead, copy it onto your PC's hard drive. You can try to import the objects by creating a new file and import them to the new file. I think you will get the same message. It is likely something happened to the file when it was copied onto the drive.

I would try opening 2013 first and then the db. I'm wondering if you have a non-updated copy of 2007 that can't open the copy from work.

This error message also generates due to version in-compatibility. Suppose you have created the database using Access 2013 and trying to open it in Access 2010.If this is the case then you need to convert the database in earlier version.
