The search key not found in any record error (trying to port dbase file)

My database is in dBase where we do the editing and using Access for query reports.



Upon importing from External Data Link to the data source by creating a linked table: the table was created but running a query yields the above error.

What did i do wrong?

Be aware that Access 2013 does not support dBase http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/o...?page=2&auth=1. This is why I have imported all our legacy dBase data into Access tables.

You might ask why we abandoned dBase in favor of Access. Our dBase program developer/manager (he was the lab foreman and building this db over 20 years was side duty) was retiring and management decided to migrate to current technology for support. I could have learned dBase as easily as Access but I'm not that far from retirement myself. Then what? There really isn't any other staff that understands programming and database management. Might have to seek contractor for support of database.

I know that does not resolve your issue but it's been a while since I linked to dBase tables and really don't know why you have that error.
