    Show data from another table

    Hello,

I need help with the following problem:

1º - I have a table (name Geral) with an ID (primary key); this ID is associated to a name in the same table
2º - I have another table (name Novos) in wich I select the ID (combobox) from (Geral)
3º - Then I need to show in table Novos (in the field name) the name associated with the ID (when I select him)

I think this is clear?! Resume: if I select ID in table Novos automatically it must show me in field name the name associated with that ID (that is on table Geral)
    Regards

In a form you can do this:

most of us never let users in tables or queries directly.

    Thank You for Your Help.
My question is not for enter information is for save information of that field in principal table as well in the secondary table. But ok, I have a relation 1 to many in those 2 tables.

Well, I gave you a method if you use a form. You have no events or control while in a table directly.

Should not save name, only ID. Saving name is duplicating data. Saving name will require code.

    Hi June7,

But I have 2 tables. I am not duplicating because the data is to save in a new table with new records. With forms I have made a subform to show data. But what I want is to save data in another table.

Should only save table Geral ID into table Novos. If you also save the name into Novos that is duplicating the name data. Build queries that join tables so all related data is available.
