    Execution Shuts on version change

    Hi,

I have made access database made on 2007, it was working fine on 2010.

But i installed a run time environment of office 2013, in which every time i open the mdb it shuts down.

Can't understand why it is happening, need help.

Runtime does not like old versions of Access. You MUST purchase runtime for 2007.
or convert your db to 2010 and the free runtime will work.

You can download and install the Access RT for free. It is free starting with version 2007. The 2003 RT version was available on the Access 2003 install CD as an exe file. You can copy it off of the CD. However, you have to have a valid license to use the 2003 RT within the copyright laws.

It is documented by Microsoft that Access 2013 will not open mdb files directly. You can use Access 2013 to link to mdb files. Having said that, I have opened mdb files with Access 2013 full version (not that I recommend doing that).

I suggest you convert your mdb file to accdb and give everyone the FREE 2007, 2010, or 2013 RT. The other option would be to limit everyone to version 2010.
