Button to open file/path in text box

Need some direction on how to do this, or any expression that may work :
Have a complete file path and file name, including the extension in a text box.
This path is placed in the text box by using a file dialogue.
The text box has on click setup to populate the file selection box.

I would like one of two things to happen:
    1. Be able to click that file path to open the file , but I don't think that will work since I have the text box set up for on click to populate the file selection box.
    2. A button configured that if clicked would launch the file in the text box using the default program for the file type. (Currently all file types will be .jpg or .png and use Windows Picture Viewer.)

    Advice and assistance greatly appreciated
