Question Access 2013: A potential security concern has been identified.

    Hi All,

I have created a new database which i have split using the database splitter creating two files, the front end (.accdb) and the back end (.accdc)

The front end works find it allows me to input data and can be used my multiple users as once,

however when i come to add a new table or new field within an existing table i get the following error when opening the .accdc:

Name:	access2013.jpg
Views:	10
Size:	23.7 KB
ID:	20769

currently the database in on my C drive however i have also tested it on the network and i am still having issues?

i have edited the access trust settings and trusted both the c drive and the network directory yet i am still having no luck?

Does anyone know anything about a potential fix?

    Cheers,
    Chris

I don't use 2013 but would suggest it looks like you are using an .accdc - see this link http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fileex...accdc-file.htm

Your backend only needs to be accdb (no point to accde or accdc because there is no code)

    Hi Ajax,

Thanks for your responce, if i want to add code in the future im guessing i will need to .accdc format? will i then experience the same issue?

or do you recon this issue is caused as i have no code?

iv seen somwhere about the use of digital certificates, but iv still had no luck

thanks for you link il try that and see if it works

    Chris

No, because you don't have a certificate

if you want to add code, you use .accdb during development....then

....when you distribute your front end, compile to a .accde

only use .accdc if you have a certificate - when you create the .accdc you will be prompted to supply it.

benefit of a digital certificate is that it means the code has been assessed as safe. If your users are all part of the same company, I wouldn't worry about it
