Open form to new record with liking ID set to a value in current record

I have a database of clams, sizes and ages.

In one form I would like to have the number of clams found and when
that value is >0, I would like to open a size/age form and create that many new records with the
ages and lengths all with a corresponding ID linking them to that record of number of clams.

I can't do this with a subform because I already have two subforms and the number of clams is in
    datasheet view.

I have tried this with a macro, but to no avail.
