Tab control caption for current tab is blank/invisible/missing

When I choose to use themes in my tab control, suddenly the current tab I am on goes blank. In form view the other tabs also go blank on rollover. If I turn off themes, then it is fine, but the area where the tabs are is no longer transparent, so it looks junky with a colored background.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

edit: and I was sure I put this in forms, but somehow it's in the access category. If a mod wants to move this, please do. Starting on the right foot indeed! :/

Maybe has something to do with the 'rollover/selected' color matching the background. No idea how to fix.

I never use Themes because of issues they cause. I never thought of tabs as looking 'junky'.

It wouldn't look junky if there was some other way than turning on themes to make the area at the top of the tab control transparent. What I mean, is that the place where more tabs would appear if I added them is white, whereas I have a background of a different color. So there is a white area at the top of the tab control that only goes away and becomes transparent if themes are on, for some reason.

I don't think I experience that. I see only the tabs I create, there is no white area in the space where other tabs could be.

I can reproduce the effect shown in your picture, but only by removing the caption text in the page property sheet. It can't be that simple, but I can't tell because you show the property sheet for the form and not for the page or tab control. Re: "make the area at the top of the tab control transparent" - I guess you tried setting the control back style property to transparent, but did not get what you wanted?

There wasn't anything in the page captions, but adding them did nothing.

    Here is the page properties:

Here's what it looks like without styles, hence undesirable:

This is what it looks like with backstyle transparent- obviously not what I want either:

Not so obvious to me. That is the display I use.

I read that thread, but there really are no solutions posted, other than changing the themes, which does nothing for me, unfortunately.

    Solved!
For whatever reason, access showed the pressed fore color as #FFFFFF, but when I clicked on it, it actually *behind the scenes* was displaying #000000 instead. Reselecting #FFFFFF didn't change anything on the property sheet, looks-wise, but it did make the text reappear.

    Thanks everyone for your help.
