Access 2010 "Unable to Create ACCDE"

    Today's stumper question:

I have a database of moderate complexity that compiles fine, but which I cannot save out to ACCDE. I get the message, "Microsoft Access was unable to create the accde, mde, or ade file."

I have tried importing everything into a blank database, resetting the options, and re-compiling, which I can do successfully, but I still get the same message when I try to save to accde.

The file has the same references as several other databases which I have saved successfully out to accde. I am using Windows 7, 64-bit, Access 2010, the tables are connected SQL tables using Native Client 10 (other dbs using the same thing with connected SQL saving out to accde just fine).

    Please, someone ...

Well, I guess I answered my own question. I think it can be a few things that cause this problem, so the key is some patience.

I created yet another import file, and made sure I did not import the various MSYS tables from the database in question.

I think if you have an msysmodules and msysmodules1, for example, that it causes mysterious problems, even though your database will indeed compile if you do accidentally have them. I saw that they were being imported the first time, so I made sure not to import them, and voila, the save to accde process worked.

I haven't yet figured out if I'm a moderator who's a wino or if I'm just in charge of the winos.
