Has anyone got a template for a Music, Speech and Drama Festival?

Has anyone got a scheduling template for a Music, Speech and Drama (competitive) Festival? We have annual festivals run by volunteers lasting 3 days with 150 classes (competitions) involving in total approx 1200 competitors, solos, duets, groups, and need to minimise time conflicts. I have made a start but am wondering whether the wheel has already been designed.

Did you search forum and web?

Did you look at MS Desktop Event Management template? I don't know about 2013 but 2010 lists it under File > New > Database

Might find this of interest https://www.accessforums.net/databas...ses-18459.html
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thanks for your reply. The Gantt chart certainly looks useful for part of the project. One of the problems we have is that individuals enter more than one class and we have to schedule such that the classes a person has entered do not run in conflict with each other time-wise (there are 3 competition rooms). When this is replicated for 1200 people it presents quite a problem. Possibly a PERT chart may be better for the scheduling part of it. I have had a look at the events manager but it is too basic - thanks for the suggestion though, and yes, I did search the forum, though not the web yet.

Sounds like university registration program - wouldn't let me register for classes with time conflict. What you want can be done with queries and/or VBA and someone somewhere probably has but finding a freebie may be quite a challenge.

Thanks for your reply. There is a bit of a difference to the university one; in our case we accept all entries and have to shuffle the classes to minimise clashes. Where eventually a clash is unavoidable then we place the competitor as the first in one and the last in the clashing class. I have downloaded a Gantt chart and will have a play with it (30 days free).
