What to do with frontends encrypted with a different password then the passwords for the backend

    Hello all:

I just put a password on our database backend. I also encrypted my version of the frontend with the same password.

there are some users in the department that have modified versions of the frontend to fit their smaller screens. I do not quite control these.

I know that these front ends will have problems accessing the backend since they were encrypted with a different password. In fact, they don't open at all.

How can I get this rectified?

    Thanks

Well, I have my own answer to this.

This morning a user with a customized f/e called. She could not connect to the b/e. However, she was in the f/e environment. Here is what I did:

    • Unencrypted the f/e
    • Delinked all tables
    • Encrypted the f/e with the same password as the on on the b/e
    • Relinked the tables by using External Data -> Access (Import Access Data)
    • Chose "link to the data source by creating a linked table" option" for the above...
