    Help with Linked Tables

I have a table in a secure area that is linked to multiple users. I created a form for those users to key in data. The problem is the table where the form would save the data to needs to be able to calculate and add the data being keyed in by each user for that specific day. Is this possible? If so I would need detailed instructions on how to do this. I could even send the database that I have so that you could get a feel for what is being asked. Thanks.

I don't see why you are having a problem. Maybe you are trying to store a calculated value. This link might help: http://allenbrowne.com/casu-14.html

Ill give an example as to what I am trying to do.

Bob, Jane, and Bill are keying in work that they have done for the day. I need to be able to add every thing that Bob, Jane, and Bill keyed in together in one field and store it. Meaning I would need that to be in a table. I would then need to be able to run a report by date for that combined data...

    Example of some data :

Status change due to cancellation : 1
    New: 3
    Oldest Date: 01/01/2010
    1-3 Days: 4
    4-15 Days: 1
    Over 15 Days: 0

All three would key in this type of data for the same day but I need to add all three into one table for that days date. I hope that helps .....

So all of this data is just text in one field in your table? Each user should create their own record with the date.

there are about 24 users that will be keying in numbers and text for that current day. So if they create their own record how do i get the sum of all of those records into a viewable report by date keyed?

46 number fields and 10 date fields that the users would key information into. All the number fields for that days data would need to be added together for a total by date if the users are going to have seperate records . I have added a "issuer" field to be able to break out each persons record. So from that point is there a way to be able to list all the fields that they had to key into with a total of everything everyone has keyed in for that day? I really wish you could just see the database then you would probably have a better picture of what im asking for but i have PHI information within the database. Ahhhh help lol ...

Correct me if I'm wrong please. All of the data is in separate fields in a record and each record now has an "issuer" field for identification. Each record has a "DateCreated" so they can be tied together. RIGHT?

Have you played with aggregate queries yet? Summing and grouping.

Use the query builder and press the sigma button (looks like an E sort of). Then start playing.
